My Story
My name is Amelia Kinooka, and I am part British, Danish, and Japanese. I have always been a curious mind. Whether it be from psychology and neuroscience, to DEI, biomimicry, and environmental sciences, my interests could never quite fit into one particular "degree".
In this project, I will design my own learning journey to explore my curiosities and interests freely and draw connections between topics that may seem unrelated at first glance. Here, I will be documenting certain aspects of my journey in the hope that it inspires even just one person to potentially design their own learning rather than taking a traditional path of a fixed 3 year course.
This portfolio will document my gap year journey, from the projects I join, to the skills I build, to the reflections I write. For someone like me, curious, interdisciplinary, and slightly allergic to traditional paths, it feels right, and liberating. It’s a way to show who I am and how I think without needing a formal qualification first.
